Verification Engineer - Media IP
ArmJob Title
Verification Engineer - Media IP
Role Summary
Join the Systems Media IP team to develop and verify Image Signal Processors (ISPs), display processors and video codecs used in Arm compute subsystems for automotive, IoT and client markets. The role owns or leads verification for units or complete IPs, architects verification environments, and drives improvements to verification processes and tools.
Experience Level
Senior - typically requires 9+ years of relevant verification experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Take verification ownership for unit-level, multi-unit hierarchies, or act as verification lead for an overall IP (ISP, Display, Video).
- Architect and implement verification IP and full verification environments.
- Develop and improve constrained-random SV-UVM testbenches and verification infrastructure to increase quality and efficiency.
- Review and assess design changes for verification complexity and impact.
- Analyze simulation data (including applying ML/data-science techniques) to prioritize bug discovery and drive debug.
- Identify and implement cross-team process and methodology improvements.
- Collaborate with other engineering teams and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
Must-have:
- 9+ years of experience with constrained-random verification, including ownership of a complex verification environment and creation of testbenches.
- In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with SystemVerilog UVM and building reusable, scalable verification code.
- Strong scripting skills to develop and support verification flows.
- Solid software engineering fundamentals: object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms.
- Familiarity with tools and processes required to complete verification flows end-to-end.
- Prior technical and/or team leadership experience for senior-level responsibilities.
Nice-to-have:
- Team leadership and formal mentoring experience.
- Experience with multiprocessing microarchitecture and bus protocols (AMBA APB/AHB/AXI).
- Experience developing Formal Verification testbenches.
- Domain experience in video codec, ISP or display projects and advanced image processing algorithms (local tone mapping, noise reduction, motion estimation, transform coding).
- Experience with Functional Safety for Automotive (ISO 26262, IEC 61508).
- Experience with Continuous Integration for verification flows.
