Job Title

Verification Engineer Intern

Role Summary

Six-month, full-time internship supporting SoC integration, functional verification and FPGA/emulation activities within Intel's Silicon and Platform Engineering Group. The role provides hands-on verification, debugging and simulation work to support product development.

The intern will work with cross-functional teams on RTL/logic, SystemVerilog-based verification, and use automation/AI tools to accelerate verification tasks.

Experience Level

Entry-level (Internship). Intended for students or recent academic participants. Candidates should have ~4+ months of coursework, project or internship exposure to digital design fundamentals, RTL/logic/SystemVerilog and scripting (e.g., Python).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on verification and integration tasks for SoC designs and supporting emulation/FPGA platforms.

  • Support SoC integration and verification, including debugging and full-chip simulations.
  • Develop and run RTL/logic on FPGA and emulation platforms using SystemVerilog.
  • Apply functional verification methodologies (including UVM) to validate designs.
  • Use scripting and AI tools to automate verification and debugging workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver verification objectives and escalate findings.
  • Participate in hands-on projects aligned to product development goals and professional development activities.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and conditions to be considered, plus preferred skills that are beneficial.

  • Must-have: Fluent in English.
  • Must-have: 4+ months of experience or knowledge in digital design fundamentals and computer architecture concepts (via coursework, projects or prior internships).
  • Must-have: 4+ months of RTL/logic development experience or knowledge using SystemVerilog.
  • Must-have: Familiarity with scripting/programming (e.g., Python) and basic use of AI tools for automation.
  • Must-have: Ability to work independently and in teams; effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with FPGA development or emulation platforms.
  • Nice-to-have: Functional verification experience (UVM) and microarchitecture/simulation debug methodologies.
  • Other: This position is not eligible for employment-based visa/immigration sponsorship.

Education Requirements

Actively pursuing a university degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field. Education and practical experience may be combined (coursework, projects, research, and prior internships) to meet experience expectations. An English-language resume is required.
