The role focuses on hands-on lab validation, electrical characterization, test automation, and cross-functional support to ensure successful IP integration.
Experience Level
Entry-level / Early Career.
Responsibilities
The engineer will perform lab-based validation and characterization of high-speed SerDes and related mixed-signal IP, support product integration, and produce validation reports.
- Validate features of high-speed SerDes PHY used in Ethernet and PCIe using instruments such as oscilloscopes, bit-error testers, time-domain reflectometers, vector network analyzers, and arbitrary waveform generators.
- Perform mixed-signal functional verification and electrical performance characterization.
- Provide hands-on technical support during design, development, and deployment of SerDes and related IP.
- Collect, analyze, and document test data and produce validation reports.
- Support chip/system-level IP applications including SerDes, PLL, ADCs, power regulators, and temperature sensors.
- Work with product management, design engineering, and quality assurance to align product capabilities with customer needs.
Requirements
Key technical skills and workplace requirements. Items marked as "Nice-to-have" are preferred but not required.
-
Must-have: Basic programming in Python; exposure to scripting in C/C++, MATLAB, or similar.
-
Must-have: Introductory knowledge of analog and digital mixed-signal design and hands-on silicon hardware experience from coursework or labs.
-
Must-have: Ability to collect and analyze test data and produce clear validation reports; effective communication skills.
-
Must-have: Eligibility to access export-controlled technology; candidates may be subject to an export license review.
-
Nice-to-have: Advanced coursework or prior internships in validation, analog/digital/mixed-signal, or VLSI design.
-
Nice-to-have: Experience using coding languages to automate testing or processes and familiarity with power/thermal testing and high-speed signal processing applications.
Education Requirements
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field is required. Coursework emphasizing hands-on silicon hardware is expected.
