Verification Engineer, DMTS/SMTS/MTS
Micron TechnologyJob Title
Verification Engineer, DMTS/SMTS/MTS
Role Summary
Lead verification strategy, architecture, and execution across RTL, analog/mixed-signal (AMS), and transistor-level verification (TAV) domains to ensure first-pass silicon success and high product quality. Work with global cross-functional teams to define verification methodologies, deploy verification infrastructure, and drive technical decisions across the product lifecycle.
Experience Level
Senior - 10+ years of semiconductor verification experience, with leadership and technical ownership of verification projects.
Responsibilities
The role focuses on verification methodology, environment development, coverage-driven closure, debugging, and improving verification productivity.
- Define and execute verification strategy and architecture across RTL, AMS, and transistor-level domains.
- Create test plans, coverage strategies, and debug flows to achieve verification closure and first-pass silicon success.
- Develop and maintain verification environments using SystemVerilog, UVM, and industry-standard EDA tools; integrate SPICE/HSPICE and transistor-level flows as needed.
- Perform root-cause analysis and correlate simulation results with silicon behavior for digital, mixed-signal, and transistor-level designs.
- Drive functional, code, assertion, and mixed-signal coverage analysis to reach closure.
- Design and deploy automation frameworks, tooling, and AI-assisted solutions to improve verification efficiency and workflow.
- Collaborate with design, product engineering, validation, and CAD/EDA teams to establish best-known verification practices.
- Mentor engineers, provide technical leadership, and lead cross-team verification initiatives.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and proven experience for successful performance in this role.
- Extensive experience in RTL, AMS, and transistor-level verification methodologies and flows.
- Proficiency with SystemVerilog and UVM-based verification environments.
- Familiarity with SPICE/HSPICE, FineSim or equivalent transistor-level simulation tools and mixed-signal integration.
- Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills across digital and analog domains.
- Programming and scripting skills (Python preferred) for automation, data analysis, and EDA workflow optimization.
- Experience with coverage-driven verification and closure processes.
- Proven ability to lead technical projects, influence architecture decisions, and act as a subject-matter expert.
- Experience evaluating or deploying AI-assisted automation and tooling is preferred.
- Experience with memory, SoC, or advanced CMOS products is a plus.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is required. Master's or PhD is preferred.
