Verification Engineer
Advanced Micro DevicesJob Title
Verification Engineer
Role Summary
The Verification Engineer will lead and contribute to functional verification of Network-on-Chip (NoC) IPs, subsystems and SoC designs. Work includes architecting and developing simulation- and formal-based verification environments at block and subsystem levels, and driving verification closure with design and architecture teams.
Experience Level
Mid-level (Level - Mid-Career). No specific years of experience specified.
Responsibilities
Deliver verification plans, testbenches, and closure for complex digital blocks and subsystems.
- Lead verification planning by interpreting architecture and design specifications.
- Create verification test plans in collaboration with architects and design engineers.
- Design and architect SystemVerilog/UVM testbenches for block and subsystem verification.
- Develop constrained-random and directed verification environments; implement SystemVerilog Assertions (SVA) and formal checks.
- Debug tests with designers to resolve functional issues and achieve sign-off.
- Define and analyze coverage metrics; identify verification holes and drive closure.
Requirements
Core technical skills and verification experience required; preferred items listed separately.
- Must-have: Strong expertise in SystemVerilog and UVM; solid understanding of ASIC/SoC verification methodologies.
- Proficiency with constraint-random, coverage-driven verification and SystemVerilog Assertions (SVA) for formal checks.
- Experience verifying complex digital designs and driving verification closure; strong debugging skills and ability to work with global design teams.
- Ability to design and implement testbenches and verification infrastructures.
- Familiarity with simulation and debug flows at block and chip level.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with OVM/VMM, Synopsys VCS, Cadence IES, NoC verification, protocols (AXI3/4, DDR4/5, HBM, PCIe), processors/graphics verification, gate-level simulation, power/reset verification, regression/verification management, and formal tools (Cadence IEV, Jasper, Synopsys VC-Formal/Magellan).
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
