The role works within a cross-functional team focused on presilicon verification, postsilicon validation, and enabling software development.

Experience Level

Senior. Typical experience guidance: Bachelor's in a related field +6 years, Master's +4 years, or PhD +2 years (experience-based admissions described in Education Requirements).

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include building emulation environments, debugging hardware/software integration, and improving verification workflows.

  • Build and configure emulation and FPGA models using synthesis, partitioning, and routing tools.
  • Develop, test, and debug hardware and software collateral in simulation, emulation, and FPGA environments.
  • Define and develop emulation tools, flows, and methodologies to improve verification efficiency and usability.
  • Enable RTL development acceleration through usability improvements and debugging of failing RTL tests on emulation platforms.
  • Collaborate with design, silicon validation, and software teams to optimize emulation environments.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts and flows to increase emulation utilization.
  • Provide guidance on optimizing test environments, test suites, and emulation methodologies.
  • Participate in SoC and IP bring-up; identify root causes for testbench issues and resolve emulator/FPGA environment challenges.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience. Education requirements are summarized separately below.

  • Experience with emulation platforms such as Palladium or Zebu.
  • Proficiency in SystemVerilog and RTL design fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of emulation fundamentals, FPGA prototyping, and configurability.
  • Experience with hardware validation debugging tools and methodologies.
  • Experience in automation, scripting, and workflow optimization for emulation environments.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional work.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience in hybrid emulation environments (virtual platforms + FPGA/emulation models).
  • Familiarity with firmware development, SoC integration, and emulation performance optimization.
  • In-depth microarchitecture and digital design knowledge.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with 6+ years of experience; OR Master's degree with 4+ years of experience; OR PhD with 2+ years of experience. The posting also allows equivalent practical experience in lieu of the listed degrees.
