Job Title

Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Work on RTL/IP verification within Broadcom’s ASIC Product Division, focusing on block- and system-level verification of complex ASIC IP. The role involves building verification environments, creating behavioral models, debugging RTL, and collaborating with design and architecture teams to ensure functional correctness.

The primary objective is to validate IP and chip-level functionality through automated verification and robust debug processes.

Experience Level

Senior — requires 8+ years of relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include creating verification plans, developing environments and models, running regressions, and improving verification flows.

  • Develop and execute verification plans for IP at block and system levels.
  • Design, build, and maintain SystemVerilog/UVM-based verification environments and testbenches.
  • Develop Python-based behavioral models and validate designs against RTL implementations.
  • Analyze simulation results, debug failures, and drive root-cause resolution.
  • Collaborate with design, architecture, and verification teams to ensure design quality.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts and regression frameworks.
  • Contribute to improvement of verification methodologies and leverage AI-assisted tools to increase productivity.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.

  • 8+ years of industry experience in RTL/design verification.
  • Strong expertise in RTL verification methodologies, including SystemVerilog.
  • Experience with ASIC verification flows and block- and system-level verification.
  • Proficiency with UVM/OVM, Python, and C/C++; familiarity with scripting and automation.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills; ability to resolve complex verification trade-offs.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Firmware development or embedded C experience.
  • Knowledge of PHY layers, formal verification methodologies, or chip design flows and tools.
  • Familiarity with CPU, DDR, bus, network protocols, or DSP design.
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Computer Science.
