Validation Engineering Manager - mmWave/RF

Role Summary

Lead the mmWave/RF validation team supporting TI's 60 GHz and 77 GHz radar products for Automotive and Industrial markets. Responsible for managing validation activities, hardware and test system development, and ensuring products meet performance and reliability requirements.

Position is based in Dallas, TX. Texas Instruments will not sponsor visas or work authorization for this position.

Experience Level

Senior - 8+ years of related engineering experience with emphasis on RF testing.

Responsibilities

Manage validation activities and guide engineers to define and execute hardware and test strategies for mmWave/RF products.

• Manage and direct validation teams through the validation process.
• Develop realistic schedules, track progress, and drive projects to on-time completion.
• Resolve technical and non-technical issues in real time.
• Design and document test systems and PCBs for 55–85 GHz operation.
• Develop test methodology, measurement procedures, and automation to increase coverage and reduce data collection time.
• Design validation platforms and support circuitry (power management, receiver chains, power amplifiers).
• Work in post-silicon labs to measure device performance and troubleshoot systems and equipment.
• Manage off-site contractors and coordinate characterization board development.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience; preferred items noted separately.

• 8+ years of related engineering experience with strong RF testing background.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to manage engineering teams.
• In-depth understanding of RF and analog systems, functional blocks, and performance metrics (intermodulation, compression, noise figure).
• Hands-on experience with test equipment and ability to design test systems and methodology for 55–85 GHz radios.
• Ability to design support circuitry and diagnostic systems for validation platforms.
• Proficiency writing scripts to control instruments and basic automation; experience with MATLAB and ADS for analysis.
• Strong verbal and written communication, teamwork, and time-management skills.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with mmWave circuit boards, advanced high-frequency PCB materials, or electromagnetic simulation.
• Signal processing knowledge for post-processing digitized signals.
• Experience managing contract workers for characterization board development.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, ECE, Computer Engineering, or a related field is required per the posting.
