Validation Engineering Intern
Role Summary
Join the Validation group within the Signal Integrity Products team to support validation and test automation for high-speed optical networking prototypes. Work with local and remote product development and design teams to develop measurement systems, data acquisition, and verification utilities.
This is a 12–16 month student internship based in Ottawa, ON.
Experience Level
Entry-level internship for current students; internship duration 12–16 months.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Develop data acquisition suites to support characterization of R&D prototypes
- Develop measurement analysis techniques and systems to verify device compliance to specifications
- Create software and hardware for prototype measurements and laboratory automation
- Design utilities to support IC verification and characterization and improve productivity
- Act as an active member of cross-functional product development teams
Requirements
Required skills and attributes:
- Proficient in Python programming and automation
- Hardware and software debugging skills
- Experience with data acquisition and automation of R&D laboratory equipment
- RF and high-speed digital (>10 Gbps) measurement and debug experience
- Familiarity with optical and high-speed test equipment
- Strong communication, organizational, teamwork, and leadership skills
- Customer-focused, highly motivated, goal-driven self-starter
- Availability to start the internship in May 2027 and commit to a 12–16 month placement
