Validation Engineer

Role Summary

Performs post-silicon validation and characterization for high-speed memory buffer devices. Responsible for silicon bring-up, debugging, developing and automating test plans, and collaborating with design, system, and product engineering teams to verify electrical and timing performance.

Experience Level

Entry-level — 1+ years of hands-on lab experience in high-speed analog and mixed-signal devices.

Responsibilities

Deliver post-silicon validation, debugging, and reporting for high-speed interfaces and memory buffer devices.

• Perform initial silicon bring-up and hardware debug.
• Validate high-speed Rx/Tx paths and PLLs; perform jitter analysis and eye-diagram measurements.
• Use BERTs, high-bandwidth oscilloscopes, signal generators, and compliance software for testing.
• Develop, execute, and automate test plans for electrical and timing parameters.
• Collaborate with designers and cross-functional teams to debug and optimize performance.
• Support board-level debugging and signal integrity analysis.
• Produce clear, reproducible validation reports and documentation.

Requirements

Core technical skills and hands-on experience required.

Must-have:

• 1+ years hands-on lab experience with high-speed analog and mixed-signal devices.
• Hands-on experience with silicon bring-up and post-silicon validation.
• Practical knowledge of signaling levels, termination architectures, and signal integrity tradeoffs.
• Experience using high-speed test equipment (BERT, high-bandwidth oscilloscope, signal generators, compliance software).
• Proficiency in Python for test automation and data analysis.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with memory interface architecture and protocols, preferably DDR5.

Education Requirements

Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
