Validation Engineer

Role Summary

Entry-level validation engineer on the silicon validation team, working onsite in Duluth, GA. The role focuses on planning and executing electrical validation for new silicon products such as DDR, memory controllers, and related interfaces.

The engineer will work with design, test, and product teams to verify performance, debug silicon issues, and improve validation automation and methodologies.

Experience Level

Entry-level / Graduate (recent Master's degree preferred).

Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities include:

• Develop and execute validation plans for new silicon products (e.g., DDR, memory controllers, DIMM-related designs).
• Collaborate with Design, Test, and Marketing to define validation scope and acceptance criteria.
• Use lab equipment (oscilloscopes, BERT, AWG, programmable power supplies, multimeters) for electrical characterization and benchmarking.
• Document test procedures, collect results, and produce detailed engineering reports.
• Debug and troubleshoot silicon issues; coordinate fixes with design and test engineers.
• Develop and enhance automated test frameworks and validation scripts to improve efficiency.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and attributes:

• Solid understanding of digital and analog circuits, semiconductor device behavior, and basic computer architecture concepts.
• Familiarity with lab measurement techniques and common instrumentation used in silicon validation (oscilloscopes, BERT, AWG, power supplies).
• Proficiency in programming or scripting for test automation and data analysis (Python, C/C++ or similar).
• Hands-on experience with test automation equipment and building validation scripts.
• Strong problem-solving ability and effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and a willingness to learn new tools and methodologies.

Nice-to-have:

• Exposure to memory interfaces (DDR) and memory controller validation.
• Experience developing automated test frameworks or working with advanced signal integrity tools.

Education Requirements

Recent Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent practical experience may be considered.
