Validation Engineer
Role Summary
The Validation Engineer will join the Post-Silicon Validation team in the Performance Computing Power Division to validate analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power-management ICs. The role focuses on test development, laboratory setup, board-level evaluation, automation, data analysis, and cross-functional debugging to ensure products meet electrical, functional, and performance specifications prior to production.
Experience Level
Entry-level / Early career - roughly 2 years of relevant work experience is expected.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include design and execution of silicon validation and related activities:
- Validate analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power-management ICs to electrical, functional, and performance specs.
- Design and build advanced laboratory test setups and custom evaluation boards for silicon characterization.
- Develop and maintain measurement and lab-automation scripts using Python.
- Perform data acquisition, statistical analysis, result correlation, and prepare technical reports and evaluation summaries.
- Evaluate performance at device, board, and system level; document and track silicon and application issues.
- Work closely with Design, Applications, Firmware, Product Engineering, and Quality teams to investigate and resolve bugs.
- Propose and implement improvements to measurement techniques, automation, and validation productivity.
Requirements

- ~2 years of hands-on experience in lab validation, test execution, or related engineering roles.
- Practical experience with lab automation and test equipment; ability to improve measurement techniques.
- Proficiency in Python for test automation and measurement control.
- Board-level analog and digital circuit design skills for PCB schematic creation and test-fixture work.
- Basic knowledge of power-management applications in consumer electronics.
- Strong analytical and debugging skills with a systematic problem-solving approach.
- Effective written and verbal communication; ability to collaborate in international cross-functional teams.
- Flexible to undertake occasional international travel.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline is stated in the posting (about 2 years of work-related experience referenced). No other certifications or equivalent-experience language was specified.
