Validation EMC and PCB Simulation Engineer

Role Summary

Contribute to the characterization, validation, and optimization of electromagnetic performance for NXP products through laboratory testing and PCB-level simulation. Work with design, product development, and validation teams to ensure EMC robustness from early design stages.

This role combines hands-on EMC test campaigns with simulation and correlation work to reduce EMC risk and improve board designs.

Responsibilities

Execute EMC validation and perform PCB-focused electromagnetic analysis to identify and mitigate emission and susceptibility issues.

• Plan and run EMC test campaigns on ICs, electronic boards, and embedded systems.
• Perform emission and immunity measurements per applicable standards.
• Investigate EMC failures and non-compliance; analyze results and identify root causes.
• Prepare technical reports and present findings to project teams.
• Perform electromagnetic simulations on PCBs to predict and optimize EMC performance.
• Perform correlation studies between simulation and laboratory measurements.
• Identify coupling mechanisms and sources of emissions or susceptibility; propose PCB design recommendations.
• Support schematic and PCB layout reviews and contribute to validation methodology improvements.

Requirements

Key technical and personal skills required to perform the role.

• Must-have: Practical knowledge of Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and analog/digital electronics.
• Experience with instrumentation and measurement techniques for EMC testing.
• Familiarity with electronic board design and PCB CAD tools (e.g., Cadence Allegro, OrCAD).
• Experience with PCB-focused electromagnetic simulation tools (e.g., Sigrity, PowerSI, Clarity) or equivalent.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving mindset.
• Ability to work effectively in an international team and communicate technical results clearly.
• Nice-to-have: Scripting or programming experience (Python, MATLAB, or equivalent).

Education Requirements

Master's degree or Engineering degree in Electronics, Electromagnetics, Microelectronics, Embedded Systems, or an equivalent field.
