Job Title
Validation/Characterization Engineer
Role Summary
Join the SR (SRLVB) team to validate and characterize synchronous rectifier products for data-center applications. The role focuses on post-silicon validation, designing test hardware and automation, and ensuring devices meet datasheet and validation/verification compliance matrix (VVCM) requirements.
Experience Level
Mid-level β approximately 5 years of relevant experience is required.
Responsibilities
Work on hardware and software test development to measure, validate, and improve device performance across defined use cases and stress conditions.
- Define test plans and identify failure modes and use cases where devices may not meet specifications.
- Design and build PCB test boards and test fixtures for silicon characterization.
- Develop automation software and data-collection scripts to increase test coverage and throughput.
- Design measurement methods and implement instrumentation setups for electrical characterization.
- Troubleshoot device, system, and equipment issues arising during validation.
- Execute post-silicon lab testing and analyze results versus datasheet and VVCM limits.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive issues to closure and support product release to market.
Requirements
Concise list of must-have skills and preferred skills.
Must-have:
- ~5 years of experience in device validation, characterization, or related test engineering roles.
- Experience designing PCBs and test hardware for silicon validation.
- Experience developing automation or test software (scripting or higher-level test frameworks).
- Hands-on experience with electrical measurement instrumentation and test setups.
- Ability to analyze test data, diagnose failures, and implement mitigations.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with power-management / synchronous-rectifier products or data-center power applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication, stakeholder management, and time-management skills.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams and fast product-development cycles.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required (posting lists "Degree Level: Bachelor's Degree" and explicitly cites a bachelor's in electrical engineering). No advanced degree or equivalent-experience language is specified.
