UVM SystemVerilog Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Join the verification team responsible for validating AirSpan's FPGA and ASIC designs for 4G/5G network products. The role focuses on developing UVM-based verification infrastructure, executing test plans, and resolving functional and performance issues with design teams.

Responsibilities

Accountable for verification planning, test development, execution, and reporting for digital hardware (FPGA/ASIC).

  • Develop and implement UVM-based verification plans and test strategies for FPGA designs.
  • Create SystemVerilog testbenches, test cases, and automation frameworks.
  • Perform functional, system-level, and regression testing; run and analyze simulations.
  • Debug failures, root-cause defects, and collaborate with designers to resolve issues.
  • Measure and improve coverage metrics, and apply formal techniques where appropriate.
  • Document test procedures, results, and track defects.
  • Optimize verification processes and tooling to improve throughput and accuracy.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; nice-to-have items listed separately.

  • Must-have: 10+ years of hands-on UVM-based verification experience for FPGA systems.
  • Strong proficiency in SystemVerilog and Universal Verification Methodology (UVM).
  • Experience with simulation tools such as ModelSim or QuestaSim.
  • Proficiency in scripting for automation (Python or Perl).
  • Experience with C/C++ and implementing bit-accurate models; familiarity debugging DSP designs.
  • Familiarity with coverage metrics, debugging tools, and formal verification techniques.
  • Knowledge of O-RAN architecture and 4G/5G protocols relevant to verification.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Nice-to-have: FPGA development experience, VHDL/Verilog skills, hardware/software co-verification, protocol verification experience.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. (Degree specified in the source.)
