UCIe Applications Engineer, Staff
Role Summary
Provide technical leadership to customers integrating UCIe IP into ASIC/SoC designs. Support integration, simulation, silicon bring-up, documentation, and cross-functional coordination with R&D to ensure IP performance and successful product delivery.
Experience Level
Senior-level. The role is staff/senior in scope and targets highly experienced engineers; the posting references roughly 10+ years of ASIC design/verification/applications engineering experience while also listing a minimum of 5 years for related roles.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include customer-facing integration support, technical guidance, and collaboration with R&D.
- Guide customers through integration of UCIe IP into ASIC SoC designs and systems, addressing technical and process challenges.
- Advise on IP configuration, simulation, synthesis, floorplanning, static timing analysis (STA), and DFT strategies.
- Conduct integration reviews at key SoC development milestones to ensure IP performance and compatibility.
- Deliver training and workshops on UCIe specifications and integration best practices.
- Collaborate with R&D to develop application notes, technical collateral, and product improvements based on customer feedback.
- Support simulation, silicon bring-up, and hands-on debugging of silicon and FPGA/hardware.
- Represent the company at industry events and build long-term partnerships with customers.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and relevant experience; advantages are indicated where appropriate.
- 5+ years experience in ASIC/Analog PHY design or applications engineering at advanced technology nodes; role targets senior-level engineers.
- Hands-on expertise in mixed-signal and high-speed interface design and integration.
- ASIC front-end and/or back-end implementation experience including simulation, synthesis, floorplanning, and DFT.
- Strong knowledge of EDA tools and methodologies; experience with place-and-route (P&R), physical verification, and signal/power integrity is highly valued.
- Proven ability to debug and troubleshoot silicon and FPGA/hardware.
- Familiarity with Die-to-Die interconnect and protocols such as PCIe or CXL is a significant advantage.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and experience leading customer technical reviews and workshops.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (specified in the posting).
