TSE KEG Equipment Engineer
Role Summary
The TSE KEG Equipment Engineer leads development, qualification, and deployment of wafer probers, testers, probe cards, and related manufacturing technologies for Micron's Test Solutions Engineering Key Equipment Group (KEG).
Works with global manufacturing, quality, engineering, and supplier teams to improve equipment capability, reliability, throughput, and product quality while enabling next-generation semiconductor technology deployment.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Typically requires 3+ years of relevant engineering experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Lead development, evaluation, qualification, and deployment of wafer probers, testers, probe cards, and related manufacturing technologies.
- Define equipment specifications, design requirements, and qualification strategies aligned to global manufacturing and technology roadmaps.
- Manage first-of-a-kind equipment and process introductions from concept through production deployment.
- Lead cross-functional projects with manufacturing, test engineering, process engineering, quality, and supplier partners.
- Investigate deviations, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to improve performance and reliability.
- Design and execute experiments, analyze data, and apply statistical methods (including DOE) to support decisions and continuous improvement.
- Develop manufacturing metrics, best-known methods, and process improvements to enhance yield, throughput, and cost.
- Leverage automation and AI-enabled tools to improve productivity, data analysis, and engineering workflows.
Requirements
Must-have:
- 3+ years experience in equipment engineering, manufacturing engineering, systems integration, or a related technical field.
- Proven experience leading engineering projects and working with cross-functional teams to deliver technical solutions.
- Experience applying structured problem-solving methodologies, statistical analysis, and Design of Experiments (DOE).
- Experience using CAD tools, interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics, and supporting equipment development or integration projects.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience supporting semiconductor manufacturing, wafer probe operations, or semiconductor test methodologies.
- Experience managing supplier relationships, equipment qualifications, and new technology deployment programs.
- Familiarity with 3D CAD and engineering analysis methods (thermal, stress, structural, or flow analysis).
- Experience with statistical/data analysis software (e.g., JMP) and applying AI-enabled tools or workflow automation.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline β or equivalent practical experience.
