Job Title

Test Technical Program Manager

Role Summary

Manage manufacturing test strategy and execution for Etched's transformer-focused AI systems across new product introduction and mass production. This individual contributor role coordinates hardware, test, firmware, software, manufacturing, and operations to deliver scalable, high-quality factory test coverage.

Experience Level

Senior-level. The role expects 7+ years of experience in hardware test engineering and program management, with track record of leading NPI and production test programs.

Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate manufacturing test development and deployment from prototype through production ramp.

  • Drive execution of manufacturing test programs across prototype, EVT, DVT, PVT, and mass production.
  • Define manufacturing test strategy, milestones, and deliverables with hardware, firmware, software, validation, and manufacturing teams.
  • Coordinate board-, subsystem-, and system-level test solutions for multiple assembly levels (L6, L10, L11).
  • Ensure test hardware, software, fixtures, automation, and infrastructure meet production readiness requirements.
  • Partner with contract manufacturers and FATP/ODM/OEM partners to deploy and scale test processes globally.
  • Track test readiness metrics: station bring-up, throughput, capacity, coverage, and factory deployment status.
  • Lead cross-functional root cause analysis and issue resolution during engineering and production builds.
  • Drive yield improvements, retest reduction, and continuous optimization of factory test processes.
  • Report test status, risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans to engineering leadership and executives.
  • Travel domestically and internationally to support factory bring-up and production readiness.

Requirements

Must-have technical and program management skills for manufacturing test of complex hardware systems.

  • 7+ years in hardware test engineering with experience transitioning into Technical Program Management.
  • Proven experience managing manufacturing test programs from development through production ramp.
  • Strong understanding of NPI phases including EVT, DVT, PVT, and production ramp.
  • Experience partnering with hardware, firmware, software, validation, and manufacturing engineering teams.
  • Experience working with contract manufacturers, FATP partners, or ODM/OEM organizations.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing test concepts: test coverage, station architecture, fixture development, automation, yield analysis, and failure diagnostics.
  • Excellent cross-functional program management and communication skills; experience presenting to senior leadership.
  • Willingness to work in-person from the San Jose office and travel internationally as needed.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with manufacturing test for AI servers, accelerators, networking, storage, or high-performance compute platforms.
  • Familiarity with board-level/system-level test, boundary scan, functional test, burn-in, HASS/HALT, or factory automation.
  • Experience with automated test equipment, test software frameworks, fixture development, and manufacturing diagnostics.
  • Experience analyzing yield, failure Pareto, and test escape data.
  • Experience supporting first-generation hardware products through fast-paced factory bring-up.

Education Requirements

Not specified.
