Test Methodology Engineer
Role Summary
Develop and support ATE test methodology and automation for GPU and AI server products to enable transfer from design engineering to mass production. Work with cross-functional teams and manufacturing partners to improve yield, test coverage, capacity, and lower production costs.
Experience Level
Mid-level — typically requires 3+ years of relevant semiconductor industry experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include developing ATE test solutions, debugging failures, and enabling production testing at scale.
- Define, develop, implement, and support ATE test program solutions for GPUs and AI server products.
- Develop and debug ATE test method code.
- Create and maintain scripting and automation tools for test and debug workflows.
- Collaborate with Product Development Engineering, DFT, and IC design teams to debug product failures and implement solutions.
- Work with overseas manufacturing teams to increase yields, expand test coverage and capacity, and reduce production costs.
- Support transfer of products from design to mass production and troubleshoot production issues.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience; concise list of essential and preferred qualifications.
- Must-have: 3+ years of relevant semiconductor industry experience.
- Must-have: Knowledge of silicon verification, testing, and manufacturing processes.
- Must-have: Experience with Advantest 93K ATE platform.
- Must-have: Proficiency with Linux and programming in C/C++, Java, Perl, and/or Python for test automation.
- Must-have: Experience with SRAM testing and familiarity with 2.5D or MCM assembly.
- Must-have: Understanding of DFT insertion techniques including SCAN, ATPG, MBIST, and IOBIST.
- Must-have: Good communication skills and ability to work across distributed, cross-functional teams.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with system-level testing/validation.
- Nice-to-have: Experience applying AI techniques to ATE testing and test data analysis.
Education Requirements
Completion of a bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field — or equivalent practical experience.
