Job Title

Test Engineer (NPI Development)

Role Summary

The Test Engineer develops and deploys test solutions for New Product Introduction (NPI) of semiconductor products, focusing on automotive microcontrollers and processors. The role spans pre‑silicon planning, post‑silicon validation, and handover to high‑volume manufacturing within a global R&D and manufacturing environment.

Experience Level

Mid-level. No strict years-of-experience stated; fresh graduates and early-career engineers are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Contribute to test development and release activities across the product lifecycle.

  • Support test development from concept through mass production and ensure manufacturing readiness.
  • Participate in test planning aligned to product requirements and quality targets.
  • Perform pre‑silicon virtual tester simulations (RTL, GLS) and support emulation for early coverage evaluation.
  • Develop and debug test programs for Automated Test Equipment (ATE) used in post‑silicon validation, characterization, and qualification.
  • Ensure test robustness, coverage, and efficiency to support manufacturing release.
  • Contribute to Design‑for‑Test (DFT) requirements and methodology improvements, including automation and AI‑assisted solutions.
  • Collaborate with Design, Verification, Validation, Product, and Manufacturing teams to debug issues and perform root cause analysis during ramp‑up.
  • Prepare and maintain test documentation, analyze test data, and report results to stakeholders.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and abilities for this role.

  • Strong fundamentals in circuits, semiconductors, and microcontrollers.
  • Basic programming or scripting skills (C/C++, Python, Perl, or similar) for test development and automation.
  • Analytical, debugging, and problem‑solving skills for silicon validation and test development.
  • Ability to work effectively in global, cross‑functional teams.

Nice-to-have

  • Internship, project, or academic exposure to IC testing, RTL, verification, or DFT.
  • Familiarity with ATE platforms (e.g., Teradyne, Advantest) and silicon characterization activities.
  • Awareness of automotive‑grade quality and reliability requirements.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field. Fresh graduates and candidates with internship or academic exposure to IC testing, RTL, verification, or DFT are encouraged to apply.
