Test Engineer D&A-CRAD Intern
Role Summary
Internship on the Test Engineering team supporting RF and mixed-signal product validation and test system development. Projects are assigned from High Performance Analog, Advanced Cellular, or Connectivity & Sensors business groups based on business needs.
Work includes hands-on measurement, test software creation, data analysis, and support for RF fixtures and probe card activities.
Experience Level
Intern β for currently enrolled college students (undergraduate or graduate) participating in an academic internship.
Responsibilities
Typical assignments include hands-on test, data analysis, and test system support:
- Measure RF and DC device parameters using instruments (DC source/measure units, spectrum/network analyzers, signal generators, digital pattern generators).
- Validate products using manual test stations and develop power budgets per equipment and device specifications.
- Process, verify, and analyze measured data; prepare concise presentations and reports.
- Create test software to control equipment, execute test plans, and store datasets.
- Support RF fixture and probe card activities, including PCB, socket, and interface cable design.
- Document test system and software processes and procedures.
- Test multichip package (MCP) devices for RF and DC parameters such as gain, compression, current, and phase.
Requirements
Essential practical skills and attributes for successful performance in the internship.
- Analog/RF circuit design coursework or equivalent hands-on exposure.
- Knowledge of programming in object-oriented languages (VB.NET, C#, or similar) for test automation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for data analysis and presentation.
- Strong communication skills, self-starter attitude, and effective organization for planning and scheduling tasks.
- Ability to work on-site in Richardson, TX for the internship period; the position is not eligible for company visa sponsorship.
Education Requirements
Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science. Minimum GPA: 3.0 or higher (as stated). Internship program targets college students in these degree programs.
