Digital IC Design Engineer, Sensing PS
Texas InstrumentsJob Title
Digital IC Design Engineer, Sensing PS
Role Summary
Design and implement digital IP and deliver RTL through full-chip release for sensing IC products (magnetic, inductive, current sensing, etc.). Work on both frontend and digital backend flows and collaborate closely with analog, physical, test, and product engineering teams in Dallas, TX.
Experience Level
Entry-level / Early Career β role requires approximately 2 years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
The role covers end-to-end digital design and verification activities; key responsibilities include:
- Lead complete digital design flow: frontend RTL design and backend implementation.
- Design logic with Verilog/SystemVerilog for FSMs, DSP arithmetic, communication interfaces, memory controllers, and analog control blocks.
- Develop HDL testbenches and design models for verification; simulate RTL and gate-level behavior.
- Execute backend steps: synthesis, place-and-route, post-timing analysis, ATPG, and related flows.
- Design for testability (scan, memory BIST) and generate functional/production test vectors.
- Translate system specifications into digital design requirements and provide architecture trade-off analysis.
- Collaborate with physical, analog, test, and product engineers and support IC layout progress and prototype characterization.
- Maintain and improve the digital design flow and evaluate EDA tools; participate in design reviews and produce documentation.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Thorough understanding of digital logic design.
- Familiarity with Verilog and simulation tools.
- Practical exposure to analog functionality and analog IC design methods.
- Systematic problem-solving ability.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with SystemVerilog.
- Strong analytical, communication, time-management, and teamwork skills.
- Experience collaborating across functions and driving projects to on-time delivery.
Education Requirements
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a related technical field. The posting specifies a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
