Test Development Intern

Role Summary

The intern will support the test development team at Nexperia Seremban, contributing to semiconductor test program development, tester validation, data analysis and production support within a manufacturing environment.

Work includes automation and scripting to improve test robustness and exploring data-driven or AI/ML approaches for test optimization and failure analysis.

Experience Level

Entry-level (Internship). Suitable for current undergraduate students; no specific years of prior professional experience required.

Responsibilities

Support engineering activities across test development, validation, and production ramp-up.

• Develop, debug, and maintain semiconductor test programs under engineer supervision.
• Assist with tester setup, validation, and correlation for new and existing products.
• Analyze test data, yield trends, and failure patterns to support continuous improvement.
• Participate in characterization, qualification, and production ramp-up tasks.
• Implement automation and scripting to improve test flow and engineering efficiency.
• Collaborate with Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and R&D teams.
• Investigate AI/ML applications for predictive analysis, anomaly detection, or test optimization projects.

Requirements

Core technical and interpersonal skills required for the internship.

Must-have

• Familiarity with programming or scripting (Python, C/C++, or MATLAB).
• Basic understanding of semiconductor testing concepts or willingness to learn.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Self-motivated and proactive attitude.

Nice-to-have

• Knowledge of AI, machine learning, or data analytics tools.
• Experience with automated test equipment (ATE), test automation, or data visualization.

Education Requirements

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
