Intel CorporationJob Title
Technology Development Foundry Engineering – Staff Engineer
Role Summary
Senior technical role supporting foundry customers through the full product lifecycle: pre-silicon evaluation, design tape-out, testing, validation, silicon qualification, and production ramp. Work spans product/process integration, device engineering, and yield engineering with cross-functional teams and direct customer engagement.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Typical experience guidance: Master's +3 years relevant industry experience or PhD +1 year. Candidates should have at least 1 year of hands-on experience in product/process integration, device engineering, or yield engineering.
Responsibilities
Technical leadership and customer-facing execution across process, device, and yield disciplines.
- Drive end-to-end MPW and NPI execution across the full manufacturing flow, ensuring quality and on-time delivery.
- Serve as the primary customer interface for silicon execution: wafer status, silicon health, technical issues, process changes, and execution alignment.
- Lead device performance activities: manufacturing readiness reviews, post-silicon characterization, model-to-hardware correlation, and performance optimization.
- Develop predictive yield models, lead deep-dive yield investigations, perform FI/FA and root-cause analysis, and provide yield projections for test chips and production.
- Coordinate corrective actions with Process Integration, Device Engineering, Defect Metrology, and manufacturing teams to eliminate systematic losses and improve production predictability.
Requirements
Must-have skills and preferred additions.
- Minimum: 1+ years of relevant experience in at least one area: product/process integration, device engineering, or yield engineering.
- Experience with silicon characterization, process control metrics, and data-driven root-cause analysis (FI/FA methods preferred).
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and customer-facing skills.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional technical investigations and drive corrective actions.
- Preferred: direct experience with Gate-All-Around (GAA) technology nodes, foundry customer engagement, and collaboration with fabless semiconductor companies.
- This position is not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship.
Education Requirements
Master's degree (with ≥3 years relevant industry experience) or PhD (with ≥1 year relevant industry experience) in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering or physical science discipline. Equivalent experience through coursework, research, internships, military training, or work experience may be considered.
