Job Title

Technical Staff Engineer - Digital Design

Role Summary

The Technical Staff Engineer in Digital Design leads architecture and RTL implementation for digital blocks in semiconductor products. The role partners with verification, physical design, firmware and product teams to deliver silicon that meets performance, area and power targets.

Primary mission is technical leadership across the digital design flow, resolving implementation issues and enabling successful tapeout and bring-up.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Specific years of experience are not specified in the source; the title implies an experienced engineer with technical leadership responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Design, implement and maintain RTL (SystemVerilog/Verilog) for digital ASIC/FPGA blocks.
  • Prepare synthesis constraints, run synthesis, and perform static timing analysis to achieve timing closure.
  • Collaborate with verification, physical design and firmware teams for integration and silicon delivery.
  • Debug design and silicon issues during bring-up; perform root-cause analysis and implement fixes.
  • Provide technical leadership, design reviews and mentorship to engineering team members.

Requirements

Must-have and nice-to-have skills:

  • Must-have: Proven experience in digital ASIC or FPGA design and RTL development using SystemVerilog or Verilog.
  • Must-have: Experience with synthesis flows, static timing analysis and constraint development.
  • Must-have: Practical scripting ability (e.g., Python, Tcl) and familiarity with version control and common design tools.
  • Must-have: Experience collaborating across verification, physical design and firmware teams to meet design targets.
  • Nice-to-have: FPGA implementation experience, high-speed interface design, low-power design techniques, or prior leadership of cross-functional design efforts.

Education Requirements
