Technical Program & Quality Manager, System-in-Package
Role Summary
Lead technical program and quality efforts for System-in-Package (SiP) products, partnering with manufacturing suppliers and cross-functional internal teams to optimize design for manufacturability and ensure factory quality. The role focuses on delivering scalable manufacturing solutions that meet yield, cost, and schedule targets while driving continuous improvement.
Experience Level
Senior β requires significant industry experience (minimum 12+ years in semiconductor packaging or electronic assembly processes as stated in minimum qualifications).
Responsibilities
The role combines program management, supplier partnership, and quality engineering to ensure successful high-volume manufacturing of SiP products.
- Manage technical programs across NPI and high-volume manufacturing with suppliers (OSATs/CMs).
- Partner with internal teams (NPI Operations, Procurement, Engineering) to optimize product and process for manufacturability.
- Develop and implement factory and quality control systems to maintain incoming/outgoing product quality standards.
- Drive yield improvement, cost reduction, and scalable manufacturing solutions.
- Serve as primary contact during factory or quality excursions; lead containment, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Identify and mitigate critical risks proactively to prevent production impacts.
- Coordinate cross-functional debugging and corrective actions, and communicate status and risks to stakeholders and management.
- Promote continuous improvement through process-data analysis and lessons-learned implementation.
Requirements
Must-have experience and skills required for success in this role.
- 12+ years of experience in semiconductor packaging or electronic assembly processes (SMT, underfill/mold, laser, PVD/coating, bending, testing, and related technologies).
- Proven program and project management skills; ability to prioritize and drive results in fast-paced environments.
- Experience partnering with manufacturing suppliers and coordinating NPI-to-volume transitions.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement factory and quality control systems and manage quality excursions.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to document technical findings and present to diverse audiences.
Nice-to-have:
- Hands-on failure analysis (FA) techniques and root-cause debugging experience.
- Data-analysis and visualization proficiency (e.g., JMP, Tableau).
- Experience working with Asia-based manufacturing suppliers.
Education Requirements
B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field (as listed in the posting).
