Technical Program & Quality Manager (System-in-Package)
Role Summary
Lead technical program and quality efforts for system-in-package (SiP) semiconductor assembly and packaging. Partner with outsourced assembly and test (OSAT) and contract manufacturing (CM) suppliers and internal teams (NPI Operations, Procurement, Engineering) to deliver high-yield, cost-efficient, scalable manufacturing.
Experience Level
Senior - requires 7+ years of experience in semiconductor packaging or electronic assembly processes.
Responsibilities
Principal responsibilities include supplier-facing program leadership, quality system definition, and cross-functional delivery of manufacturable designs into production.
- Lead technical program management with OSATs/CMs for SiP assembly and test.
- Define and implement factory and quality control systems for incoming/outgoing product quality.
- Collaborate with NPI Operations, Procurement, and Engineering to optimize product design and process for manufacturability.
- Drive yield, cost reduction, and on-time ramp to volume manufacturing.
- Serve as primary point of contact during factory or quality excursions; provide timely status, root-cause findings, and corrective actions to stakeholders.
- Identify, mitigate, and prevent critical issues; lead continuous improvement and corrective/preventive action programs.
- Manage program schedules, risks, and cross-functional deliverables in fast-paced environments.
Requirements
Must-have technical background and domain experience; preferred items are marked.
- Must-have: 7+ years experience in semiconductor packaging or electronic assembly processes (SMT, underfill/mold, laser, PVD/coating, bending, testing, and related technologies).
- Must-have: Hands-on experience with factory quality systems, failure analysis, and reliability assessment.
- Must-have: Proven problem-solving and debugging skills; ability to lead root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Must-have: Strong program and project management skills; able to prioritize tasks and deliver results under schedule pressure.
- Preferred: Experience working with Asia-based manufacturing suppliers and maintaining supplier relationships.
- Preferred: Data-driven decision-making and familiarity with analysis/visualization tools (e.g., JMP, Tableau).
- Preferred: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience presenting technical findings to management and cross-functional teams.
Education Requirements
B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field (as listed in the posting).
