Job Title

Technical Program Manager, Architecture

Role Summary

The Technical Program Manager will drive end-to-end execution of next-generation SoC programs from early architecture through RTL, verification, DFT, physical design, tape-out, and post-silicon validation. The role sits at the intersection of engineering and program management and coordinates cross-functional teams to deliver complex silicon projects on schedule.

Experience Level

Senior level β€” requires substantial experience; the role expects 10+ years of semiconductor industry experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include program planning, cross-team coordination, and execution oversight for complex SoC development.

  • Drive program schedules, milestones, and deliverables across architecture, RTL, verification, physical design, DFT, and post-silicon teams.
  • Coordinate dependencies and trade-offs across hardware, software, and system teams to meet time-to-market and technical targets.
  • Identify, track, and mitigate technical and schedule risks; escalate when necessary.
  • Define clear goals, acceptance criteria, and release plans for each phase of the program.
  • Lead cross-functional status reporting and stakeholder alignment, including structured reporting and metrics.
  • Manage execution across geographically distributed teams and integrate external partners when needed.

Requirements

Must-have technical background and program management experience for silicon development.

  • 10+ years of semiconductor experience in areas such as CPU, physical design, RTL, design verification, or program management.
  • Strong understanding of chip architecture, standard design flows, and system-level tradeoffs (power, performance, area, schedule).
  • Familiarity with industry compute and SoC standards (examples: ARM, RISC-V, AI accelerators, interconnect protocols).
  • Proven experience leading large, cross-functional engineering teams and managing complex dependencies.
  • Proficiency with project management tools and structured reporting (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
  • Effective communicator able to align technical and non-technical stakeholders and to decompose complex problems into actionable plans.
  • Willingness and ability to work in a hybrid model based in Santa Clara, CA; able to coordinate globally distributed teams.
  • Employment contingent on eligibility to access U.S. export-controlled technology; offers may depend on citizenship, permanent residency, or prior license approval.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related technical field.
