Job Title

Technical Product Manager (Software Security & Firmware)

Role Summary

Product management role at the intersection of software, firmware, and hardware security IP. Responsible for defining product roadmaps, specifying integration interfaces, and reducing integration friction for customers adopting PQShield's security IPs and cryptographic libraries.

The role reports to the VP of Product Management and works closely with architecture, security research, and engineering teams to ensure solutions are robust against hardware-level and logical attack vectors.

Experience Level

Senior β€” the posting requests an experienced candidate (guidance: at least 7+ years of relevant experience).

Responsibilities

You will translate technical crypto and firmware requirements into product direction and customer-facing integration artifacts.

  • Define and execute the product roadmap for software-based security IPs, cryptographic libraries, and firmware portfolios.
  • Work with customers and ecosystem partners to integrate PQShield solutions into system architectures and SoCs.
  • Partner with internal architecture teams to analyze system/SoC architectures and define clean integration interfaces.
  • Act as the product domain expert for cryptographic capabilities (classical and post-quantum).
  • Collaborate with security research and engineering to harden firmware and software against hardware-level and logical attacks.
  • Author Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) and technical specifications that map cryptographic standards to hardware engineering requirements.
  • Measure product performance using internal data and improve the product development process continuously.

Requirements

Core requirements (must-have):

  • Proven record of launching and managing complex security IP or embedded products with firmware through their lifecycle.
  • Hands-on experience integrating embedded firmware with hardware security IPs and implementing embedded firmware designs.
  • Experience designing, architecting, or implementing embedded firmware products.
  • Familiarity with CPU/MCU architectures such as Arm, RISC-V, or x86 and components like TRNGs and PUFs.
  • Strong understanding of physical and logical device vulnerabilities: Side-Channel Attacks (SCA), Differential Power Analysis (DPA), timing attacks, microarchitectural leaks, fuzzing and firmware/software exploitation.
  • System-architect mindset and ability to define end-to-end security integration.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard crypto APIs and driver implementation.
  • Ability to write clear technical requirements, PRDs, and integration specifications for customers and engineering teams.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with microkernel-based architectures.
  • Background as a Firmware Security Engineer, Cryptographic Software Engineer, or Embedded Architect transitioning into Product Management.
  • Active engagement with or knowledge of NIST PQC standardization processes.
  • Experience with industry SoC security architectures.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related technical field preferred; equivalent practical experience accepted. The posting also references familiarity with security certification processes and labs (examples: FIPS 140-3, Common Criteria) as relevant experience.
