Technical Product Manager (Hardware Security & IP)
PQShieldJob Title
Technical Product Manager — Hardware Security & IP
Role Summary
Lead product definition and roadmap for hardware security IP and cryptographic solutions, working at the intersection of hardware, firmware, and software. Coordinate customers, engineering teams, and business stakeholders to deliver secure SoC subsystems and IP (post-quantum cryptography and RISC-V platforms).
Remote role covering specified European countries; occasional travel to offices required.
Experience Level
Senior — typically 7+ years of relevant experience in hardware security, SoC/IP, or semiconductor product roles.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities for technical product management of hardware security IP and platform security.
- Define and drive multi-year product roadmaps for hardware security IP and cryptographic solutions.
- Author Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) and technical specifications translating cryptographic standards into hardware engineering requirements.
- Prioritise product backlogs; balance technical debt with commercial features and make trade-offs between area, power, performance, and security (PPAS).
- Act as the primary bridge between hardware engineering, firmware/software teams, security architects, customers, and sales.
- Work with customers and ecosystem partners to integrate security solutions into broader system architectures.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify customer needs and market opportunities related to post-quantum cryptography and hardware accelerators.
- Measure product performance using internal data sources and drive continuous improvement of product development processes.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- 7+ years' experience in semiconductor, security IP, SoC product management, or equivalent technical roles.
- Hands-on experience integrating hardware security IP and architectures (Arm, RISC-V, or x86); familiarity with TRNG, PUF, masking, blinding.
- System-architect mindset with experience designing end-to-end security integration.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor products, security IP market dynamics, silicon manufacturing processes, physical design constraints, and post-silicon bring-up/validation.
- Deep familiarity with SoC architecture, bus protocols (AXI, AHB), and hardware–software interfaces.
- Experience with embedded software, firmware, security architecture, and/or digital design.
- Proven ability to work with technical leads and sales to align product roadmaps and prioritise customer-driven features.
Nice-to-have:
- Track record launching and managing complex security IP products through their lifecycle.
- Experience with hardware security industry standards and certifications.
- Knowledge of tamper-resistance and power side-channel countermeasures; secure element or smart-card design experience.
- Familiarity with GitLab CI or continuous integration and testing principles.
Education Requirements
Degree in Electronic Engineering or Computer Science (Bachelor's or higher) or equivalent practical experience. The posting also references hardware security certifications as preferred.
