Job Title

Technical Manager - Virtual Platform Team

Role Summary

Technical lead responsible for architecting and delivering next-generation simulation and virtual-platform solutions for SoCs used in multiple generations of AI products. The role establishes strategy and methodology, drives technical development, and ensures first-pass silicon success by enabling early software development.

Leads a highly technical team and coordinates with software and verification groups to deliver pre-silicon development environments and reusable platform models.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Typical background: extensive pre-silicon engineering experience (examples below include 4+ to 6+ years in relevant roles) plus demonstrated experience managing technical teams.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Architect and deliver simulation, virtual-platform, and performance model solutions for SoC designs.
  • Define strategy, methodologies, and technical standards for virtual-platform development.
  • Lead and mentor a technical team to deliver configurable, reusable software collateral for pre-silicon software enablement.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration with software, verification, and IP teams to enable early software development and first-pass silicon success.
  • Implement and verify models and environments using C/C++, Python, and modern build systems.
  • Ensure on-time delivery of high-quality pre-silicon development environments and documentation.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

  • 6+ years (typical) of experience developing simulation models, virtual-platforms, or performance models for architecture and micro-architecture (or equivalent experience).
  • 4+ years of experience managing a technical engineering team.
  • Experience in subsystem and SoC-level development and a practical understanding of the AI software stack.
  • Hands-on proficiency in C/C++ and Python, plus experience with build systems and delivering configurable software artifacts.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with software and verification teams and to deliver pre-silicon environments on schedule.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience establishing technical standards for virtual platforms and pre-silicon engineering.
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled developer tools (e.g., advanced coding assistants) used to accelerate development and verification.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (commonly with ~6+ years of relevant experience), or a PhD in a related field (commonly with ~4+ years of relevant experience). The posting also allows equivalent practical experience in lieu of a degree.
