Role Summary

The Technical Lead for China (eUICC carrier) represents NXP's eUICC products to Chinese mobile network operators (MNOs) and related partners. This role owns technical validation, product acceptance activities, and the carrier relationship in the assigned region.

The position works closely with carrier validation teams, product marketing, OEM customer support and global engineering to ensure NXP eUICC solutions meet carrier requirements and are adopted in the telecom ecosystem.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include technical stewardship for eUICC/SIM solutions and managing carrier validation and adoption activities in China.

• Serve as the main technical interface and advisor to carriers in the assigned region for SIM/UICC/eSIM solutions.
• Lead and coordinate technical validation activities and test campaigns with carriers, devices and logging tools.
• Conduct test sessions, analyze results, debug issues and report findings to engineering and product teams.
• Contribute to the architecture, design, development, debugging and maintenance of NXP eUICC software smart card products.
• Coordinate technical upgrades of eUICC OS and interact with multiple engineering teams globally.
• Build and maintain relationships with carrier validation teams, eUICC product marketing, SIM validation and OEM customer support.
• Support OEMs in commercializing eSIM solutions and resolving issues reported by Chinese MNOs/OEMs.
• Travel locally and internationally as required to meet business commitments (approximately 20%).

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, domain knowledge and practical experience required for the role.

• Experience defining UICC/eUICC product requirements and carrier roadmap activities for China.
• Expert knowledge of telecommunications and UICC/eUICC technical specifications and standards: ETSI and 3GPP for UICC/SIM/Toolkit/OTA, GSMA (SGP21/22/23), TCA SAIP, GlobalPlatform, Java Card, ISO 7816, ISO 14443.
• Programming experience in Java and C.
• Experience in eUICC profile development and eUICC OS architecture.
• Experience using UICC/eUICC testing and debugging tools (for example COMPRION, UL, FIME).
• Ability and willingness to travel (~20%).

Nice-to-have:

• Prior experience working directly with Chinese carriers and OEMs on eSIM deployments.
