Technical Engineering Intern - AI Research and Development
Role Summary
Internship to apply AI and large language models to semiconductor digital design and verification. The intern will prototype AI agents, build and evaluate proof-of-concept tools, learn design and verification flows, and collaborate with engineers to improve engineering productivity.
Six-month, full-time onsite internship starting December 2026 in Ho Chi Minh.
Experience Level
Entry-level internship. No minimum professional experience required.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Research and prototype AI-driven automation and agent solutions for selected digital design and verification tasks.
- Design and implement AI prototypes that analyze results, identify root causes, and recommend potential solutions.
- Learn RTL design and verification workflows and identify common engineering challenges for automation.
- Create AI agents using frameworks and automation tools to assist engineers with code analysis, problem detection, and resolution.
- Develop evaluation methods, document accuracy and limitations of prototypes, and share findings with the team.
- Collaborate with experienced engineers to translate practical use cases into working prototypes that improve workflow efficiency.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and attributes:
- Basic knowledge of AI and large language models and how they apply to engineering problems.
- Proficient in Python and able to write clean, efficient code.
- Basic understanding of digital design and verification concepts and workflows.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to tackle complex technical challenges.
- Ability to document work clearly and communicate technical findings.
- Curious and eager to learn new technologies and methodologies.
Preferred (nice-to-have):
- Experience with machine learning frameworks and generative AI applications.
- Familiarity with Python-based AI tools, LLM APIs, or AI agent frameworks.
- Knowledge of RTL design and verification methodologies and EDA tools.
- Participation in AI research projects, hackathons, or personal projects demonstrating AI agent development.
Education Requirements
Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
