Job Title

Technical Content Writer

Role Summary

Write technical content that explains Efficient Computer's processor architecture, compiler, and applications to engineers, product managers, and technical decision-makers. Collaborate with product, applications, and engineering teams to convert benchmarks, reference designs, and measurement results into reproducible, publishable material.

Balance hands-on engineering (bringing up evaluation hardware, compiling and measuring code) with producing blog posts, application notes, white papers, demos, and sales/field materials.

Experience Level

Mid-level (3+ years experience in semiconductors, embedded systems, or processor and compiler tools).

Responsibilities

Produce clear, reproducible technical content and hands-on examples that demonstrate product capabilities.

  • Write technical blog posts, application notes, white papers, benchmark reports, and developer newsletters.
  • Turn customer work, benchmarks, and reference designs into step-by-step examples and reproducible measurements.
  • Bring up evaluation hardware, build applications with the effcc compiler, and instrument systems to measure energy and performance.
  • Create figures, plots, demos, sample projects, and editable slides for sales and conference talks.
  • Script product walkthroughs, demo videos, and short technical explainers with clear on-screen instructions.
  • Review content with engineers for technical accuracy and update published content as products evolve.
  • Run webinars, support workshops, and help field teams use published materials.
  • Track content performance (traffic, search, engagement) and use metrics to plan future content.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, experience, and work samples.

  • At least three years' experience in semiconductors, embedded systems, or processor and compiler tools (engineering, marketing, or both).
  • Examples of writing for a technical audience such as blog posts, application notes, white papers, documentation, or conference papers.
  • Fluency in C or C++; ability to navigate, build, and modify unfamiliar codebases independently.
  • Experience with development hardware: evaluation board bring-up, sensor connections, reading a serial console, and debugging toolchains or unexpected measurements.
  • Working knowledge of Python or a similar language for data analysis, plotting results, and building small internal tools.
  • Ability to interpret engineering work, analyze measurement data, and present reproducible figures and explanations.
  • Strong written communication and self-editing skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Low-power or battery-powered system design, energy measurement, or power profiling tools.
  • Experience with compilers, instruction set architectures, or dataflow/spatial architectures.
  • Work with drones and autonomy, industrial monitoring, space and defense, or wearable devices.
  • Embedded machine learning, digital signal processing, or real-time control experience.
  • HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for interactive demos and technical web content.
  • Experience creating diagrams and data visualizations; speaking at conferences or leading workshops.

Education Requirements

Degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science, or equivalent professional experience.
