TD Photolithography Overlay Engineer
Role Summary
Join Micron's advanced lithography organization to advance overlay and patterning for DRAM technology nodes. The role focuses on analysis and data-driven solutions that move development work into high-volume manufacturing.
The position collaborates with process engineers, automation engineers, and vendors to define overlay control strategies, improve scanner and metrology performance, and standardize methods across sites.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include developing, validating, and deploying overlay control strategies and methods across development and production.
- Define and maintain overlay control strategies for advanced DRAM nodes.
- Develop alignment and overlay roadmaps to meet target specifications.
- Evaluate and deploy new overlay methodologies, including feedforward/feedback schemes, NZO correction, and advanced scanner modeling.
- Apply AI and modern tools to improve overlay methodologies and automation.
- Optimize overlay performance through sampling plans, control models, and scanner correction capabilities.
- Document and standardize overlay methods across technologies and global sites.
- Collaborate with internal teams and equipment/software vendors to improve photo overlay systems and deliver production-ready solutions.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and attributes for the role; preferred items are listed separately.
- Hands-on experience in photolithography, metrology, overlay, critical dimensions (CDs), or photo patterning.
- Familiarity with fab operations and photo automation systems.
- Strong analytical skills, including statistics and data analysis.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
- Ability to collaborate with vendors and transfer methods into high-volume manufacturing.
- Nice-to-have: experience in R&D or high-volume manufacturing, DOE and data modeling, advanced statistical techniques, delivering production-ready automation, leading cross-functional technical projects, and prior work with AI or advanced scanner models.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Physics, or a lithography-related field plus 5 years of relevant experience; OR Master's or PhD plus 2 years of relevant experience. (This requirement is stated in the source.)
