TCAD Applications Engineering, Staff Engineer
Role Summary
Provide technical leadership for process and device modeling solutions, working with customers, fabs, equipment vendors, and internal R&D to develop, validate, and deploy TCAD-based process integration flows for advanced logic, memory, and power devices.
The role focuses on building and automating simulation flows, delivering technical support for customer engagements and business development, and translating customer needs into product and methodology improvements.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Typical experience expectation: a Master's degree plus 3+ years' relevant experience, or a PhD in a relevant technical field.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include technical enablement, solution development, and cross-team collaboration to ensure robust simulation flows and customer success.
- Partner with customers, support teams, and R&D to develop and deploy process modeling solutions for advanced technology nodes.
- Provide hands-on technical support for business development and customer engagements with fabs, vendors, and fabless partners.
- Build, automate, and customize simulation flows using scripting (TCL, Python) to solve real-world customer problems.
- Develop and document methodologies, benchmarks, and training materials to scale customer adoption.
- Integrate process simulation with device modeling, RC extraction, lithography, and stress analysis to support DTCO solutions.
- Work with R&D to identify gaps, specify features, and participate in product QA and regression testing.
- Monitor state-of-the-art process and simulation technologies and feed insights back into product and methodology improvements.

- Demonstrated hands-on experience with process integration or module development in advanced logic, memory, or power device technologies. (must-have)
- Working knowledge of process simulation tools or engineering software (e.g., TCAD, process flow simulators). (must-have)
- Proficiency with scripting languages such as TCL or Python for automation and customization. (must-have)
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in technology development contexts. (must-have)
- Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences. (must-have)
- Experience with unit process steps (etch, thin films, lithography), metrology, APC, or statistical analysis. (nice-to-have)
