Tapeout Engineer, 2026 New College Graduate

Role Summary

Entry-level engineering role focused on tapeout operations and data platform development within a global semiconductor foundry. The role pairs tapeout domain knowledge with data engineering, cloud architecture, and analytics to build scalable, automated tapeout workflows.

You'll work with product owners, EDA teams, manufacturing fabs, and IT on data modeling, migration, validation, and cloud-native automation to improve tapeout quality and traceability.

Entry-level β€” New college graduate program. Intended for recent graduates starting their first full-time role.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities focus on enabling tapeout execution through data, tools, and cloud automation.

  • Develop and enable scalable EDA functions in a cloud environment.
  • Design and implement data pipelines, validation frameworks, and automation for tapeout workflows.
  • Create dashboards and visualizations to monitor tapeout KPIs, tool outputs, and system performance.
  • Support data migration, mapping, and reconciliation from legacy systems to cloud platforms.
  • Support customer tapeouts, mask manufacturing enablement, and wafer start enablement at fabs.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of tapeout processes, documentation, and operating procedures.
  • Follow all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements in daily work.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and practical experience; preferred items noted.

  • Must-have: Proficiency in Python and experience building automation or process-improvement scripts or tools.
  • Must-have: Familiarity with web frameworks or front-end tech such as Angular and experience producing UIs or dashboards.
  • Must-have: Experience with cloud-native services and implementing solutions using managed cloud tools.
  • Must-have: Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases and processing data at scale.
  • Must-have: Familiarity with development and CI/CD tools (GIT, Jenkins, Bamboo) and project tracking tools (ADO, JIRA).
  • Must-have: English fluency (written and verbal).
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with AWS analytics services, Quicksight, PowerApps, or similar visualization/low-code tools.
  • Nice-to-have: Prior internship or co-op experience, leadership in projects or competitions, and semiconductor domain exposure.

Education Requirements

Graduating with a bachelor's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field from an accredited program is required. Candidates are expected to have at least a 3.5 overall GPA and be in good academic standing. This role targets new college graduates entering full-time employment.
