Role Summary
The Aerial PHY team develops high-performance physical-layer software for 5G/6G baseband, using GPUs to accelerate signal-processing tasks. This internship contributes to building, simulating, and optimizing end-to-end PHY systems for research and commercial demonstrations.

Responsibilities
Work on development and integration of PHY software components, simulations, and performance validation for GPU-accelerated baseband systems.
- Develop end-to-end reference system stack for 5G/6G baseband.
- Build and simulate PHY-layer algorithms using MATLAB and Python.
- Implement and optimize PHY features in C/C++ and CUDA on GPU platforms per 5G/6G specifications.
- Support system integration, performance testing, demonstrations, and lab trials for end-to-end systems.
Requirements
Core technical skills required and preferred qualifications to perform the internship tasks.
- Strong background in classic and AI/ML algorithms for communication signal processing.
- Good understanding of trade-offs between algorithm performance and implementation cost.
- Programming experience in MATLAB or Python and in C/C++.
- Ability to work on system integration, testing, and performance evaluation in a lab environment.
- Nice-to-have: CUDA programming experience and familiarity with NVIDIA GPU architectures.
- Nice-to-have: Familiarity with 3GPP, ORAN, and FAPI standards related to 5G/6G.
Education Requirements
Pursuing an MS or PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field; internship-level enrollment/standing indicated by "pursuing" degree enrollment in the posting.
