Job Title

Systems Software Engineer - New College Grad 2026

Role Summary

Join the Advanced Technology Group to develop systems and software that accelerate computational methods for semiconductor manufacturing and design. Work in a small, technical team to prototype and productionize high-performance GPU-accelerated solutions.

Experience Level

Entry-level (new college graduate). Suitable for candidates recently completed or pursuing graduate study or with equivalent early-career experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include research, implementation, and performance optimization of computational methods for semiconductor processes.

  • Design and implement advanced computational methods to improve semiconductor manufacturing yield and time-to-market.
  • Accelerate algorithms using GPU programming and parallel computation techniques.
  • Optimize low-level performance: algorithm design, memory management, cache strategies, and workload balancing for scalable systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineers to move solutions from research to production.
  • Troubleshoot complex algorithmic and system-level problems with minimal supervision.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; concise list below. Preferred items are noted when applicable.

  • Experience developing or delivering complex software for semiconductor fabrication or design (research or industry projects).
  • Experience or coursework in advanced computational systems and AI; familiarity with ML/deep learning fundamentals and common architectures.
  • Demonstrated low-level performance optimization skills (algorithms, memory/cache considerations, scalability).
  • Familiarity or ability to learn CUDA and parallel programming models quickly.
  • Strong foundation in algorithms, data structures, and computational theory; ability to solve complex technical problems independently.
  • Nice to have: prior work on distributed systems, model optimization techniques, or semiconductor-specific computational methods.

Education Requirements

Pursuing or recently completed a MS or PhD in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. (Source also indicates equivalent experience is acceptable.)
