Mid-level - minimum of 6 years' experience as a system design engineer (per minimum qualifications).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include system-level design, analysis, integration, and support for complex equipment:
- Define and design complex components, modules, and subsystems to meet market requirement specifications.
- Coordinate with project marketing and management to capture subsystem requirements.
- Lead architecture discussions and drive selection of final subsystem architectures.
- Perform detailed engineering analysis across electrical and adjacent disciplines.
- Develop concepts for architectural approaches and recommend optimal system solutions.
- Build and qualify prototypes or procure subsystems from suppliers and test to specifications.
- Identify and troubleshoot difficult engineering issues including serviceability and manufacturability.
- Support system integration, assembly, and final testing of new product designs.
- Execute and coordinate reliability testing and implement design or operational changes as required.
- Provide remote and onsite support to field teams as required.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for this role.
- Minimum 6 years' experience as a system design engineer (must-have).
- Demonstrated depth and/or breadth of expertise in system engineering (must-have).
- Experience designing or modifying electrical/electronic assemblies, layouts, schematics, and detailed drawings/specifications for control systems (must-have).
- Control architecture design experience with system-level knowledge, integration, and testing (must-have).
- Knowledge of semiconductor equipment and tools (must-have).
- Ability to lead cross-disciplinary engineering work and coordinate with suppliers and manufacturing (must-have).
- Willingness to travel up to ~10% for field support and integration (must-have).
