Role Summary

As a Systems Design Engineer on AMD's Systems Design Engineering team, you will develop scalable, automated solutions for SoC validation, drive product definition and root-cause resolution, and support cross-functional delivery of semiconductor products.

The team focuses on validation, tooling, methodology improvements, and technical initiatives to accelerate product qualification.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Develop tools, scripts, and automation to improve validation capabilities and processes.
• Debug issues during bring-up, validation, and production phases of SoC programs.
• Coordinate with multiple teams to plan and track test execution and ensure timely feature validation and optimization.
• Work closely with supporting technical teams and engage in cross-functional technical initiatives.
• Apply software/hardware modeling frameworks to support analysis and validation.
• Analyze validation data and propose methodology and process improvements.

Requirements

Required skills and experience.

• Must-have: Debug techniques and methodologies; board/platform-level debug including sequencing, analysis, and optimization; knowledge of system architecture and validation strategy; experience coordinating test execution across teams.
• Nice-to-have: Programming/scripting (C/C++, Perl, Ruby, Python); familiarity with lab equipment such as protocol/logic analyzers and oscilloscopes; experience with software/hardware modeling frameworks.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
