Senior Systems Design Engineer
Role Summary
Senior engineer responsible for systems-level validation, platform bring-up, debug, and automation to ensure AMD SoC products meet quality and schedule targets. Works across validation, firmware, hardware, and software teams to define test plans, implement tools, and resolve root causes.
Primary focus areas include scalable test automation, platform and board-level debugging, and improving validation methodologies.

Responsibilities
Key day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Develop tools, scripts, and automation to improve validation throughput and repeatability.
- Perform platform and board-level bring-up, sequencing, and optimization for SOC programs.
- Debug issues found during bring-up, validation, and production; perform root-cause analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to track test execution and ensure feature validation on schedule.
- Use lab equipment and software/hardware modeling frameworks to validate system behavior.
- Lead technical initiatives and share methodology improvements across teams.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, environment, and other constraints:
- Proficient programming/scripting skills (examples: C/C++, Perl, Ruby, Python).
- Solid debugging techniques and methodologies for system-level issues.
- Extensive experience with lab equipment such as protocol/logic analyzers and oscilloscopes.
- Proven experience with board/platform-level debugging: delivery, sequencing, analysis, and optimization.
- Deep understanding of system architecture, technical debug, and validation strategy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail; self-starter able to drive tasks to completion.
- Ability to work closely with multiple supporting technical teams and lead collaborative efforts.
- Position located in Secaucus, NJ; this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
