System Test Validation Engineer
Role Summary
Lead technical role in post-silicon system and silicon validation for AMD EPYC Server and AMD Instinct products. Responsible for defining and executing system- and rack-level validation strategy, driving debug and root-cause analysis, and coordinating cross-functional engineering teams.
Works with architecture, SoC, firmware, OS, and infrastructure teams to improve validation throughput, automation, and product readiness.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include validation planning, debug leadership, and process improvement.
- Lead system-, rack-, and cluster-scale validation strategies for AI and machine-learning server platforms.
- Define comprehensive validation plans covering scale-up and scale-out customer deployment scenarios.
- Develop validation methodologies and test strategies across CPU, GPU, memory, BIOS, BMC, networking, storage, platform firmware, operating systems, and infrastructure components.
- Lead investigation and root-cause analysis for complex hardware, firmware, software, networking, and system integration issues.
- Define and enhance scalable validation frameworks, automation infrastructure, telemetry-driven workflows, and data-driven validation methodologies.
- Analyze large-scale validation data to identify systemic failures, reliability risks, and performance bottlenecks.
- Establish validation readiness criteria, quality metrics, and coverage strategies; communicate status and risks to senior leadership.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership to improve debugging effectiveness and validation practices.
- Drive execution across multiple validation programs while managing priorities, dependencies, schedules, and technical risks.
- Support customer-focused validation to ensure test environments represent real-world and hyperscale deployment conditions.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and capabilities are listed below; preferred items are noted separately.
- Extensive post-silicon/system validation and debugging experience across OS, firmware, silicon, and hardware.
- Strong understanding of x86 architecture, SoC design, memory subsystems, RAS, and power management.
- Experience with platform- and system-level debug, including interactions between operating systems, device drivers, and system BIOS.
- Familiarity with industry-standard buses and their software stacks (e.g., PCIe, CXL).
- Proven ability to define validation strategies, build automation and telemetry workflows, and analyze large validation datasets.
- Strong communication, coordination, and technical program management skills; ability to drive cross-functional technical decisions.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with AI rack/cluster validation and datacenter/hyperscale operating environments.
- Knowledge of GPU/accelerator products and their integration with server platforms.
- Experience improving validation methodology and automation at scale.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering preferred.
