System Software Engineer - Data Center Diagnostics
Role Summary
Develop system software, diagnostic tools, and test automation for next-generation GPUs and high-performance computing servers. Work closely with architecture, hardware and driver teams to validate new silicon, drive quality improvements, and build infrastructure required for chip development and productization.
Experience Level
Senior; requires 12+ years of embedded or system-level software experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Design and implement diagnostic tools, test frameworks, and software infrastructure for new chips and servers.
- Collaborate with architecture, hardware, and driver teams across the product development lifecycle.
- Assess new hardware features and architect diagnostic solutions using pre-beta or early drivers.
- Lead and drive quality-improvement initiatives and software objectives for the team.
- Debug and validate complex hardware/software interactions at the system level.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- Strong C and C++ programming skills.
- Deep understanding of computer architecture, operating systems, algorithms, and low-level debugging.
- Familiarity with PC architecture and the ability to work close to hardware.
- Experience with PCIe, NVLink, or server technologies such as InfiniBand and Ethernet.
- Experience with DMA and RDMA.
- Experience working on large system software codebases; able to self-manage and provide technical leadership.
Nice-to-have:
- Networking skills and knowledge of data packet processing pipelines.
Education Requirements
B.Tech or M.Tech in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
