Job Title

System Security Software Engineer

Role Summary

Join NVIDIA's GPU Software team in Pune to design, implement, and verify security and platform features for on‑chip controllers and firmware across NVIDIA GPU products. The role works closely with hardware, firmware and system software teams to secure the platform from pre‑silicon through production.

The position focuses on embedded and low‑level software, security analysis, and verification methods to ensure robust firmware and middleware for GPUs used in desktops, workstations, data centers, and consoles.

Experience Level

Mid-level - typically 3+ years of relevant software development experience in embedded systems and/or kernel/driver development.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include design, implementation, verification, and support of security capabilities across firmware, middleware and platform controllers.

  • Define, design, develop and verify security and platform features for next‑generation RISC‑V and other in‑house controllers on NVIDIA GPUs.
  • Perform security analysis and hardening of firmware and middleware (threat modeling, code review, static/dynamic analysis, fuzzing, negative testing).
  • Validate system and security properties using pre‑silicon modeling, simulation and emulation to de‑risk silicon bring‑up.
  • Support silicon bring‑up and production validation across product platforms (desktop, notebook, workstation, datacenter, consoles).
  • Debug complex cross‑component issues involving firmware, drivers and hardware.
  • Collaborate with distributed teams across time zones; drive design reviews and technical alignment.
  • Adopt AI‑assisted tools responsibly to improve development, review, and testing efficiency while following security best practices.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for immediate impact.

  • 3+ years of relevant software development experience, especially with embedded systems and/or kernel/driver stack.
  • Strong C programming skills and experience with low‑level, resource‑constrained or real‑time environments (bare‑metal or RTOS); device driver or BSP development.
  • Hands‑on experience building or maintaining security‑relevant features for firmware, middleware or controllers.
  • Solid understanding of computer architecture and SoC fundamentals (caches, buses, MMUs, memory controllers, DMA, interrupt controllers, security islands, fuses).
  • Experience with complex system‑level debugging across firmware, drivers and hardware.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work across engineering teams and time zones.

Nice-to-have skills that strengthen candidacy:

  • Experience with RISC‑V, low‑level BSP/firmware bring‑up, toolchains, or on‑chip security controllers.
  • Practical knowledge of hardware security, applied cryptography, secure boot, TEEs, key provisioning/rotation, or code integrity mechanisms.
  • Experience with simulation/emulation and silicon bring‑up for security or control processors (FPGA prototyping, virtual platforms, QEMU/PQEMU).
  • Familiarity with security verification techniques: fuzzing, fault‑injection, coverage‑driven security testing, negative testing, or formal methods.

Education Requirements

B.Tech./B.E. (Computer Science or related) or higher, or equivalent practical experience.
