System Performance Architect
QualcommJob Title
System Performance Architect
Role Summary
Lead system performance exploration for next‑generation Mobile, AI and CPU server SoCs from early concept through post‑silicon. Partner with architecture, design, software, and verification teams to identify bottlenecks, evaluate trade‑offs, and drive architectural improvements.
Experience Level
Senior - requires approximately 6+ years of relevant experience in performance modeling, memory architecture, or system architecture.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Define and execute system-level performance analysis for infrastructure, memory controllers, interconnects, and caches in pre-silicon simulation environments.
- Identify performance bottlenecks and propose architectural improvements across interconnect, caches, and compute.
- Contribute to performance sign-off, project deliverables, technical reviews, and automation.
- Define methodologies, metrics, and KPI frameworks for workload analysis and feature evaluation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (SoC, NoC, memory controller, DV, power, software) to influence design decisions.
- Recommend optimizations across hardware and software, working with architecture, compiler, OS, firmware, and application teams.
- Research memory architecture trends (HBM, 3D-stacked memory, advanced packaging) and inform design choices.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred skills:
- Must-have: 6+ years of experience in performance modeling, memory architecture, or system architecture; strong C++ proficiency; experience with SystemC/TLM modeling; solid understanding of SoC, NoC/fabric architecture, memory subsystems, memory hierarchies and DRAM systems; experience planning and executing performance exploration for complex SoC designs.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with AI/ML, GPU, or HPC-class SoCs; familiarity with post‑silicon performance analysis and silicon correlation; ability to translate performance data into clear architectural recommendations.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field with 4+ years relevant experience, OR Master's with 3+ years, OR PhD with 2+ years. Degrees in engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, physics, mathematics, or related technical fields are referenced; equivalent practical experience accepted per posted minimum qualifications.
