System Modeling Engineer
Role Summary
Work on AMD's Pensando team developing system models for advanced ASIC and SoC platforms to support architecture exploration, design validation, verification, and software development acceleration. Collaborate with architects, designers, verification, and software engineers to influence early design decisions and improve performance of next-generation AI, networking, and data center products.

Responsibilities
Design, implement, and integrate system-level models and validation environments that bridge hardware and software development.
- Develop high-level, transaction-level, and cycle-accurate models for complex ASIC/SoC platforms.
- Create models to enable architecture exploration, ASIC verification, and software acceleration.
- Build reusable validation environments in collaboration with architecture, design, verification, and software teams.
- Analyze system behavior and performance; identify and implement optimizations.
- Investigate and debug cross-stack functional and performance issues.
- Contribute to SystemC and related simulation-framework initiatives.
- Develop automation and scripting to improve modeling, simulation, and validation workflows.
- Provide modeling-driven input to architecture and product decisions.
Requirements
Core technical skills and practical experience required; preferred skills listed separately.
- Strong C++ programming experience.
- Experience with SystemC modeling and simulation environments.
- Proven experience developing transaction-level, functional, or cycle-accurate models for ASIC verification or architecture exploration.
- Familiarity with ASIC design, verification workflows, and complex SoC architectures.
- Strong analytical and debugging skills across hardware and software stacks.
- Experience with automation and scripting (Python or similar).
- Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams and communicate technical results clearly.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States; this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Nice-to-have:
- Exposure to ARM Fast Models, ISA modeling, virtual platforms, OMNeT, or similar tools.
- Experience with networking, data center infrastructure, CPU architecture, or high-performance computing.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline is preferred.
