Job Title

System Level Test & Qualification Support Engineer

Role Summary

Work on system-level test, diagnosis and silicon validation for ASIC products at Broadcom's Fort Collins development center. The role supports customers and internal teams to develop, deploy and harden system-level test solutions and qualification flows.

The position is customer-facing and requires hands-on debug and collaboration with design, validation, DFT and test teams to isolate failures and improve test coverage.

Experience Level

Senior — requires substantial industry experience (see Education Requirements for formal experience guidance).

Responsibilities

Primary duties include system-level test development and customer support for diagnostics and qualification.

  • Define and execute plans to collect diagnostic data from customers to isolate system/ASIC failures.
  • Develop understanding of APD IP test and characterization methods and correlate system results to ATE tests.
  • Investigate system issues, lead information-gathering with customers, and drive discovery conversations.
  • Design and develop test/evaluation boards in collaboration with customers to enable SLT.
  • Debug test failures involving signal integrity, high-speed SerDes, HBM and other high-speed memory interfaces.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address systemic issues across products.
  • Manage projects and tasks independently with minimal supervision.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; items are concise and prioritized.

  • Proven experience in system-level validation, characterization and debug.
  • Experience correlating system-level results with ATE/wafer/final test data.
  • Familiarity with SLT and socketed evaluation boards and system-level fault tolerance concepts.
  • Knowledge of scan design, IJTAG/JTAG, stuck-at testing, Memory BIST and IP test strategies.
  • Practical experience with in-system buses and interfaces: I2C, MDIO, PCIe, APB, AXI.
  • Hands-on debug skills with oscilloscopes, signal analyzers and lab instrumentation.
  • Programming and data-analysis skills for test and diagnostic tooling; ability to read C test code.
  • Ability to work independently, manage customer interactions, and lead technical communications.
  • Nice-to-have: deep familiarity with boot code and system state transitions for HBM-based SIPs.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic or Computer Engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience, or Master's degree in Electrical, Electronic or Computer Engineering with 6+ years of relevant experience.
