Job Title

System & IO Architect - Signal Integrity

Role Summary

Lead early‑phase signal integrity (SI) architecture exploration for high‑speed memory and system interfaces. Work within the architecture team to model, simulate, and assess interfaces, then translate technical findings into clear architectural intent and electrical requirements.

This role applies data‑driven analysis and AI tools to optimize modeling and decision making, and influences IO, package, and system architecture direction.

Experience Level

Senior — requires 10+ years of experience in signal integrity or high‑speed interface design.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include technical leadership in SI architecture, hands‑on modeling, and cross‑discipline collaboration.

  • Define SI architectural strategies for high‑speed memory and system interfaces.
  • Perform early feasibility and scaling analysis for future data rates.
  • Build, validate, and maintain channel models across package, board, and system levels.
  • Drive end‑to‑end SI co‑design with IO, package, and system architects.
  • Translate SI analysis into electrical requirements and architectural constraints.
  • Present SI trade‑offs and recommendations to engineering leadership.
  • Leverage AI/LLM tools to improve productivity in modeling, simulation, and documentation.

Requirements

Core technical skills and experience required. Education is summarized separately below.

  • 10+ years of experience in signal integrity or high‑speed interface design.
  • Proven hands‑on SI modeling and simulation expertise (channel modeling, time/frequency domain analysis).
  • Deep technical knowledge of transmission lines, jitter, loss, and crosstalk.
  • Experience translating SI results into electrical requirements and system constraints.
  • Experience collaborating across IO, package, and system design teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; able to explain complex SI trade‑offs to leadership.
  • Nice-to-have: experience with memory interfaces or high‑speed IO standards.
  • Nice-to-have: prior work in architecture or pre‑silicon exploration roles.
  • Nice-to-have: experience using AI/LLM productivity tools for analysis and documentation.

Education Requirements

Minimum: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Preferred: Masters degree in a related technical field. Equivalent practical experience accepted where stated.
