System Engineer V (E5)

Role Summary

Design, integrate, and optimize complex semiconductor systems with multidisciplinary elements (electrical, mechanical, physics, algorithms, and software). Lead system architecture, define specifications, conduct systems analysis and testing, and ensure seamless integration of subsystems to meet product requirements and quality standards.

Experience Level

Senior - 10–15 years of relevant systems engineering experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include system-level design, integration, verification, and cross-functional leadership.

• Lead and execute complex, multidisciplinary projects that advance system functionality or technology.
• Drive system architecture selection through brainstorming, trade studies, and down-select processes.
• Translate market and product requirements into system-level specifications and diagrams; influence product and software engineering.
• Plan, supervise, and review system-level testing and validation; support assembly and final product testing.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and mitigate complex engineering and integration issues.
• Coordinate with marketing to validate market requirement specifications (MRS) and ensure feasibility.
• Work with vendors to develop competitive components or subsystems, considering technical and business constraints.
• Provide remote and onsite support to field personnel as required; travel approximately 10%.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience (concise).

• Proven systems engineering experience on complex mechatronic or semiconductor equipment projects, including architecture, integration, and verification.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technically complex projects and coordinate cross-functional teams (engineering, software, vendors, field support).
• Strong systems analysis skills: ability to produce and review diagrams, specifications, and test plans.
• Experience troubleshooting system-level issues across electrical, mechanical, and software domains.
• Effective communication skills to influence design direction and present architecture/test results to stakeholders.
• Willingness and ability to provide onsite field support and travel (~10%).

Nice-to-have:

• Demonstrated experience leading complex project teams or initiatives.
